Dream It, Be It: Support for Girls gives girls the tools they need to achieve their wellbeing, education and career goals. Sponsored by Soroptimist International of Simi Valley, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting women and girls.
What We Do:
All girls face barriers because of their gender. Soroptimist clubs work in partnership with girls in small groups or a conference setting to provide them with the information and resources they want and need to be healthy and successful.

Career opportunities • Setting and achieving goals • Overcoming obstacles to success • Moving forward after setbacks or failures

Meet the Speakers & Mentors:
Sara Langberg, Engineer
Langberg is an aeromechanical engineer at AeroVironment, a global leader in unmanned aircraft systems with a long history of breakthrough innovation. Since joining the company in 2016, her team has been working with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) on the small robotic helicopter that will attempt the first powered flight on another planet.
Natalie Bologna, AMFT
As a local graduate of California Lutheran University, I earned a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy, expanding on a previous Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, emphasizing in Child and Family Development. I have a range of experience working with children, teens, and adults of all ages who have survived complex trauma and/or domestic violence. I have also facilitated many process and support groups for at-risk teens as well as provided psychoeducational programs in classrooms through Ventura County SELPA.

Garcia is a mother who upon returning to society began volunteering with various organizations that help incarcerated persons and their families. She now works for Anti-Recidivism Coalition, a support network for formerly incarcerated people.

Linette Jackson, Yoga Instructor
Linette Jackson is a native to Ventura county. She completed her RYT200 at The Nook in Simi Valley in 2011. She was introduced to yoga in 2006 after experiencing a leg injury from a car accident. She is a stage 4 breast cancer survivor. Practicing yoga is a pleasure for her and she believes it has played a key part to her recovery with cancer.
Sandy Hartwell, Fitness & Health Coach
Sandy Hartwell is a nationally certified nutrition coach, personal trainer and owner of Heart-well Fitness & Health Coaching. Her S.E.T weight loss system has helped hundreds of women around the world break through diet confusion and reclaim their health, strength and confidence. Owner CKO Kickboxing
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Nikki Lian moved out to Los Angeles after she graduated college with a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the NY Institute of Technology. She traveled the world as a professional wrestler for 13 years, and when she retired opened a CKO Kickboxing Franchise in Simi Valley. Nikki also specializes in senior fitness and runs a non-profit called Body Brain Train that helps bring programs to senior facilities.
Deborah Ellen, Vocal Technique & Artist Development
Deborah has been working in the industry and training singers for 23 years. She is also a published songwriter in film and television. Deborah loves working with young talent, helping them to realize their true potential and develop the confidence they need to chase their dreams… whatever they may be!
Kellie Porto-Garcia, Counselor, Moorpark College
Kellie is an experienced counselor with expertise in working with diverse populations including first-generation college students, multicultural populations, refuges, homeless, and foster youth. She has exceptional experience developing individual plans with students and identifying resources that assist with student success.
