In 2001, LUNAFEST® became the very first traveling film festival featuring films by women, about women.
Starting as one small California premiere 20 years ago, LUNAFEST has celebrated the work of over 170 filmmakers in 2,500 screenings nationwide. These important films bring fresh perspectives and inspire communities.
Brought to you by Soroptimist International of Simi Valley, LUNAFEST Simi Valley has also made an impact at the local level, helping to raise funds for the local nonprofit benefiting women’s causes while providing a celebrated platform for women filmmakers.
For years, women have been demanding new voices and storytellers. To join the movement, you can attend a screening.
