Meet Detective Jamal Labbe

Special Crimes Unit/Intel, Ventura County Sheriff’s Office

 

Jamal has been a law enforcement officer for approximately 11 years.  Prior to his appointment as a Ventura County Deputy Sheriff, Jamal completed 10 years of active-duty military service as an Activity-based Intelligence and Geospatial Analyst in the US Air Force Special Operations Command.  During Jamal’s tenure in the military, he completed nine deployments in multiple combat theaters in support of the Global War on Terrorism and garnered irreplaceable life experience which influenced his career in law enforcement.  As a law enforcement officer, Jamal has held several investigative and collateral assignments including the Directed Enforcement Unit in the city of Camarillo, Field Training Officer, Explorer Program Advisor, FAA-licensed Drone Pilot on the Unmanned Aerial Systems Unit, State-recognized Negotiator on the Tactical Negotiations Unit, and Operator on the Special Weapons and Tactics team.  Jamal is currently assigned as a Human Trafficking Detective in the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Special Crimes Unit and a member of the Ventura County Human Trafficking Task Force where he has been able to leverage his skillset and training to drive the task force mission and serve our community.
